Both shelves disintegrated within two years. Company refuses to replace them at no cost to me. Over $400 to replace with the same defective junk of the original. LG does not support customers. They sent me a how to use your refrigerator sheet instead of replacing the defective parts. Fridge is fine except it isn’t usable without shelves.

Two shelves failed on refrigerator. The main glass shelves have a plastic edge that disintegrated. The plastic was so brittle I could easily snap it with my fingers. Contacted LG customer service. They said it was over the warranty, by a couple of months. They said this happens when the shelves are “overloaded”, which believe me, they were not. I sent pictures of the plastic illustrating how weak it had become, but they really could care less. Their suggestion was to buy replacement shelves at 100 dollars each, back ordered a month because, well, they fail so much they cannot keep up on parts. I am reluctant to do that as there is no guarantee these won’t fail in a year also. I work in plastics and this is an obvious failure of the material.
