   Bought this Bosch from my local appliance dealer. We chose it because of the terrific features and because of Bosch’s reputation. Their dishwasher has been a flawless performer for us. Fell in love with the refrigerator, but on day 365 the refrigerator compartment temp reached 70 degrees. Called our appliance dealer the next day, day 366. They said we were out of warranty and referred us to Bosch. Like everything else these days, can’t get anyone on the phone. After 45 minute wait on hold, finally got someone who ended up hanging up on us. Accidental? Maybe.

   If you want the perfect refrigerator and you need it for only one year, this is the one for you. If you need it longer than that, I’d recommend staying away.

   Update: Bosch elected to cover the replacement of the controller board despite being one day out of warranty (Kudos to them for taking care of the customer). Since then (a few years now) the performance has been flawless, so changed review from one to four stars.

   Check around the internet and you will be aghast at how many people have this peeling effect on their expensive, previously well reputationed stainless steel. It is a manufacturing defect that they even admitted to me but say they don’t cover it. I am hoping that people will check here and not lose their money.

   I didn’t buy from anywherefridge.com, I bought mine from Lowe’s. I paid almost $4000 for this refrigerator. I thought ‘it’s a Bosch, so it has to be great”. It’s not. It’s very noisy. I’ve had it looked at by a Certified Bosch repair person and a Bosch Repairperson. Both told me that they’re just noisy. The Bosch repairperson said, just enclose it and it won’t be so noisy. Of course that would mean a remodel of my kitchen because Bosch makes a noisy refrigerator. They even ask about the noisiness of the refrigerator on their surveys. Lowe’s even called to remind me that I had 2 days to return it. The funny thing is that it seemed to tame 2 days before I noticed the racket it makes. It sound like an old beat up refrigerator I might have had when I was in college 40 years ago and even then that refrigerator was probably 15 years old. I absolutely HATE this refrigerator and will spend the next 15 years (because that’s how long the damned noisy thing will probably last) telling people what crappy refrigerators Bosch makes. I’ll try to post some audio of the racket this piece of crap makes somewhere.

   We love the fridge! Came in perfect condition. They delivered it straight into the house and placed it right where I needed. It was packed well with Styrofoam and moving pieces securely taped down.

   I’m currently in the process of shopping for this refrigerator and checked anywherefridge.com to see if they had pricing. Frankly I was shocked to see the poor reviews. I had two of these in my old house, one for a couple of weeks that was damaged by the delivery crew and the replacement of that unit. I had the replacement for over 3 years prior to moving. Both units were the quietest refrigerators I have “never” heard. I could never tell if they were running or not. Loved the layout of the unit thou I was skeptical at first. One reviewer was correct in saying they are not made in the USA or Europe. That said I am buying two, yes two, of these to replace the two noisy and poorly designed GE profiles that are currently in my new house. I of course now hope the negative reviews were outliers and I have the same experience as I did in the past.

   This freezer broke 2 months in… alarms beeping, poor customer service through Bosch… taking weeks to get parts let alone a repair!

   This refrigerator started making intermittent rattling sounds within 6 months, but every time we went to investigate or record, it would stop. This eventually got worse, unfortunately out of warranty by 8 months, but we had the original seller who is an authorized service distributor out to troubleshoot. The technicians work report states: FOUND REFRIGERANT LINES FROM THE FR COMPRESSOR VIBRATING ON THE LOWER CABINET. The fix was to place a small piece of green 3m padding between the two rubbing parts. Cost, $304.00 to cobble up a fix for a poorly designed component layout. After countless phone calls with extremely long wait times, emails, promises, follow ups, failed follow through, more emails, etc. over the course of 3 months, we were reimbursed $169 of the $304. Now the ice maker sounds like someone is loudly knocking on our front door when it’s going through its dump and charge cycle.

   This is a beautiful refrigerator, but after 7 mos, the Ice Maker broke. Been waiting 2 mos for repair. I understand things are slow and not complaining about the long service, but at $3,300 for a Refrigerator, a broken ice maker should not happen. This unit is made “overseas” and not in the USA or Europe. Take note of where it is made.
