Absolute crap, ice maker cant keep up, slow and loud. Fans went out so water pools under deli drawer. Finding replacement fans with same plug configuration is a joke. 2 year old unit and its crap.
Don’t buy!!

You have to change filter every few month and it’s $50 a pop. This POS broke right after the first time changing filter after 2 year warranty wore off. Absolute trash.

Smart appliances are an absolute menace. This is no different. If your filter runs out (based on date, not use, mind you) you can’t dispense ice that’s already made until you bypass it or replace it. You can’t choose to continue using the filter. The whole system is designed around making you buy $60 filters twice a year. The nag screen shows if you have your blank in to remind you to be a good little consumer and feed it money. The sensors are a joke. Auto fill might as well be called ‘to the brim or half a squirt. We have no idea either!’ But most egregious is the sensor kicks in even if you’re doing precise fill, making that feature ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS. If I could go back in time and wedgie the salesperson, I would. Absolute waste of money.

This refrigerator has a proprietary RFID chip that forces you to buy a $50 ge filter every 6 months. It’s the same filter as the $15 generic. Total rip off and insult to their customers. Should be illegal and probably is.

We’re on our second GE Profile refrigerator. Just under the one-year warranty period, the ice and water dispenser stopped working. It took over a month to get a tech to look at it, he ordered all new controller boards for it, it took another month and a half to get them but it did not solve the problem, so they replaced the entire refrigerator.
Now, we are a year and a half into the use of this one, and once again it’s the ice and water dispenser malfunctioning – this time, the Auto Fill will not stop filling when the glass is full and it overflows (not good if you aren’t right there to hit another button and stop it).
The refrigerator we replaced with this one was over 25 years old, looked good and was still running well (including the ice and water dispenser). We regret replacing it now, having done so as part of a kitcchen remodel. I do not recommend spending this much on a refrigerator that is prone to this many chronic electronics issues.

We own this refrigerator for almost 3 years now, and GE Appliances has been out at least 5 or 6 times, mostly for the same thing. We had ice buildup on the lower right side of the freezer door. GE Appliances were out at least 3 times to fix the issue, the 3rd or 4th time they decided to replace the gasket around the freezer door which solved that problem but then all of a sudden ice started building up around the top ledge inside the door and on the upper right side of the freezer door. GE Appliances were out twice afterwards to try and fix that issue, which they fail to do blaming the customer that we keep the freezer door open too long when getting items in and out of the freezer part. The issue is there needs to be an adjustment of the freezer door after replacing the gasket since air will seep in due to the failure of adjusting the freezer door when a new gasket was replaced. Again, adjustments should have been made to make sure it is a tight fit all around. GE Appliances refused to believe that and refuses to adjust the freezer door, giving GE a bad reputation. We will never buy another GE product again due to these problems and their service.

I own this refrigerator and today it has stopped cooling. it clicks and the compressor never runs. It has been in service for 3 weeks short of one year. I have never had a fridge stop working before. A call to the GE service center yields an appointment 2 weeks from now. I guess they must all be busy fixing this junk. Don’t buy.

Made the mistake of refurbishing our house with all GE appliances thru HD. The Profile refrigerator leaked out the coolant — twice.
Junk.
